How We work
Ability School Story
Ability School has been educating children for over 35 years! Our 100% proficiency based curriculum allows students in Pre-K through Middle School to study at their own pace. People often learn at different speeds and by different means. At Ability School, children can take extra time on a subject or lesson if needed and/or move ahead in areas that they excel in. We focus on students as individuals and tailor their learning experience to them. This approach instills both confidence in the student’s ability to study and true mastery of the materials they are studying. We strive to empower children with the skills they need to create their own unique futures!

Ability school also provides a summer program designed for both learning & fun! The school’s summer day camp accepts children aged 4-12 and runs every summer for 3-7 weeks. Students work on academics in the mornings while celebrating all the fun activities of summer in the afternoons.
The school offers both in-person and virtual meetings with the admissions team. Call or visit our website for more information.

K to 3rd Grade
LOWER SCHOOL
In our Lower School we focus on creating an environment which achieves this in several ways: the care our teachers have for each student, highly personalized student- centered education and an effective basics program integrated into a rich curriculum.
4th - 5th Grade
Elementary School
Elementary School is generally entered at about eight years of age and is completed by eleven or twelve years of age. It includes Form 3 and Form 4 which together encompass 4th, 5th and 6th grade. During their Elementary School years, students develop educational skills and habits that will stay with them for life.
6th - 8th Grade
Middle School
The Middle School years (7th and 8th grade) form a critical transition period, from a student competent in the basics of reading, writing and mathematics to a student launched into more serious academic study. At this age we focus on raising the standards of those basic tools learned earlier.

Early Learning
We believe that the products of a proper education are self-determined students who are educated to think and learn for themselves and who can competently apply what they have learned to the real world.
We also believe that how students learn is of equal importance to what students learn and that the process of learning is itself a skill which must be taught.
